Main project features: ECHOES is a multi-disciplinary research project providing policy makers with comprehensive information, data, and policy-ready recommendations about the successful implementation of the Energy Union and SET plan. Individual and collective energy choices and social acceptance of energy transitions are analyzed in a multi-disciplinary process including key stakeholders as co-constructors of the knowledge.

Positions held: Work Package Leader and Steering Committee Member

Activities performed:

  • utilizes three complementary perspectives: 1) individual decision-making as part of collectives, 2) collectives constituting energy cultures and life-styles, and (3) formal social units such as municipalities and states.
  • focuses on three broad technological foci; smart energy technologies, electric mobility, and buildings.
  • designs and implements syntheses of existing data and literature, policy assessments, as well as quantitative experiments, interviews, netnography, focus groups, workshops, site visits and case studies

 

Name of the Project: Structuring a Sustainable, Fully Competitive, and Liberal Natural Gas Market in Turkey: The Perception of the Turkish Private Sector

Main project features: to reveal the insights from the private sector players in the Turkish Natural Gas Market related to the successful formation and implementation of a sustainable, fully competitive, and liberal natural gas market.

Activities performed:

  • A survey has been conducted to all members of the TOBB Turkey Natural Gas Assembly
  • SWOT Analysis has been made based on the fresh data produced from the survey
  • Insight into the private sector’s view related to the restructuring process of Turkish Natural Gas market is revealed.

 

Name of the Project: Damage Database Creation and Risk Analysis for Wind Turbine Under Operation in Turkey: A Risk Map for Investors and Insurers

Name of the Project: Energy Security Perception of Industrial Enterprises in Turkey: A Survey on Coherence of Perception and Turkish Industrial Strategy Document

Main project features: to disclose the companies’ energy related strategic and operational profiles along with how well their perceptions are aligned with official strategy documents (Turkish Industrial Strategy Document, The Strategic Document of Electrical Energy Market and Supply Security and, Turkish Energy Strategy and Energy Efficiency Strategy)

Activities performed:

  • A survey has been performed with ISO 500 companies.
  • Semi-structure interviews has been conducted to the Head of ISO 500 companies.
  • Alignment of companies’ strategies with that of the governmental strategy papers has been tested.
